We are moving to a house with a water meter . I know it depends how much you use but currently I am paying £32 pound as we are not on a meter. There is two of us and a 15month old so does anyone have a similar number in their family and how much do you pay a month.

There are online calculators that allow you to calculate your anticipated water usage and its cost.
for example: https://tools.energysavingtrust.org.uk/watercalculator/flashcalculatorex0 -
3 bed house, 2 adults and 3 kids 2-3 loads of washing a day plus dishwasher at least once a day plus all other use and our payment is £24 a month and that works out about spot on when the bill comes.0

I found I saved money when I had a meter, both times. Water rates were in the £30's.., the first time when I lived in a cheap water costs area I got the bill down to £10 a month, where I am now I got it down to £20 a month. Back on water rates again now and its up to £36 a month. Really annoying lol. Apparently I had the expected use of a one bed flat (three bed house with a 20 year old, me and a ten year old).
BUT I am careful about water usage. Toilet not flushed unless it has to be, I reuse bath water to mop the floors and water the garden. Nothing too strenuous but it all helps.
Make sure taps aren't dripping or worse!0 -
We're on a meter. It's just myself and my partner, no kids. We do two loads of laundry a week and shower & wash dishes daily. Our metered usage comes out to about £40 a year, so being on a meter has actually saved us loads.0

We're on a meter which I worried about when we first moved here....
2 adults, a 6 year old (who likes running the water and forgetting about it :rotfl: ) dishwasher used most days and 2-4 washing loads per week, outside tap used often to jet wash the patio (free range chickens make a mess
) we have fluctuated anywhere between £9 a month and £23. :T 0
