Charity Football Match: Inflatable Ballerinas versus Inflatable Sumos

Hi everyone,

long time lurker here.

I just wanted to let you know about something I thought might appeal to your sense of humour. For the past few years, I've arranged fancy dress football matches to help raise money for charity. In our first game, a team of Smurfs were pitted against a team of Garden Gnomes, whilst last year a team of Super Heroes battled a team of Super Villains.

This year, as the title of this thread suggests, the match will be contested by teams of people in inflatable Ballerina and Sumo suits. I read somewhere that someone managed to complete the Great North Run wearing an inflatable Sumo suit, so hopefully staggering round a football pitch for 90 minutes will be a doddle.

This year's game has greater poignancy for me because, in July, I learnt that my Dad has stomach cancer. Fortunately, it's been caught quite early and we're hopeful he'll be able to make a full recovery. He's currently going through chemotherapy and later in the year will need to have an operation to remove his stomach, but his prospects are good. It just makes you realise how important raising money for good causes is.

I thinks its a great idea and im sure will bring a lot of laughs and raise a lot of money.

The games really are a lot of fun.
