Yahoo and Google password problems - help!

I have forgotten my password for Yahoo email. I got an access code from Yahoo which worked, but when I go into 'account info' to check what my password is, it's asking for my password - which I've forgotten. I tried the access code in the hope that would let me into my account details, but it didn't work. Does anyone have a clue how I proceed. I don't want to leave my yahoo mail account open.
I also have forgotten my google password (I've got PTSD recently and my memory is wrecked). Again I got an access code, but Google is saying that it cannot verify me. Again, does anyone have any ideas that can help me?
