Cleaning pine floorboards before waxing

I recently had some reclaimed pine floorboards installed, they've been lightly sanded and had 1 coat of Mylands wax applied pre-install, and we waited to apply the final coats until after some other trades had been in and finished their work.

Now that work has finished we're ready to apply 1-2 more coats of wax before giving it all a deep polish with a rotary buffer.

However the boards have got quite dusty and dirty since they were installed... nothing too heavy, just your day-to-day grime!

Should i use white spirt to clean the boards or just water? I don't want to raise the grain and have to re-sand before waxing, and i obviously don't want to use a product that leaves a residue that might affect the wax application.

Thanks
