No. Very much you're claim of discrimination that's pathetic.

Now you have to be careful. OP might think of some ways to complain about you!

Well, in a way the OP is correct. The building society is discriminating against certain people but what they don't seem to realise is that this type of discrimination is perfectly legal.

Are nightclubs acting illegally when they state that all patrons cannot wear jeans or trainers? Surely they are discriminating against people who don't own other attire.
How about shops who won't let in people who are eating or drinking. Aren't they discriminating against hungry people?

    Discrimination isn't in itself, illegal.
Discriminating because of race, colour, religion or disability is, but this isn't what the Leeds BS have done.

And equally they are not discriminating against people with basic bank accounts as the OP seems to suggest. I don't have a basic bank account but still have no cheque book.

Surely if you have sufficient funds to open savings accounts then it would be worth opening a proper bank account?
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

It's called being old fashioned not discrimination.
Building Societies (less so Nationwide) seem particularly wedded to cheques.
