UKPC ticket

Hello,
Just after a few suggestions if I can please, I sorta screwed up by appealing straight away I suppose!
So I was parked in a "first hour free with ticket" car park with a ticket but in the time leading upto the expiry I had to be excused in the toilets and by the time I came out i'd been dropped a lovely ticket from UKPC.
I appealed explaining why I (the driver) couldn't physically get another ticket and that I (the driver) would have bought the extra 1 hour for £2.50, they said no so it went to POPLA - same thing. They just keep banging on about the signs being correct etc etc.
So i'm thinking about sending a letter with a few posh words saying basically here's either a) a cheque for £2.50 or b) a ticket I'll buy from the machine and post it to them.
Thoughts? There is no way they are getting a £90 charge from me for 15 minutes!
Thanks

It's a shame you didn't find us first before appealing as driver and on mitigating grounds. Hopefully you will know better next time.
The Sticky thread for NEWBIES gives all the information you and everyone you know needs on how to beat unfair parking tickets.
What happened when you complained to the landowner/retailer?
All you can do now is ignore anything and everything you get unless it is real court papers.
If that happens, come back here for more help.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

They might do if they take you to small claims and win.Deleted_User wrote: »Thoughts? There is no way they are getting a £90 charge from me for 15 minutes!
What a waste of an appeal then POPLA appeal. Awful and doomed. As Fruitcake said:It's a shame you didn't find us first before appealing as driver and on mitigating grounds. Hopefully you will know better next time.

Yeah, I think I screwed up.
I've not gone to the landowner or retailer, it was a wetherspoons I was in but the car park is shared by some other shops and has residents parking too.0 -
OK so try that now to get it cancelled. Head offices of the retailers plus the managing agent of the site/landowner (easy to Google usually). Never too late to complain about a PPC unfair PCN, especially from this bunch:

OP , was there a ticket on the car , or was this nasty act performed by AMPR?
how long are you supposed to be on the site? , if by ANPR what are the entry/exit times shown on it , also what time is printed on the ticket you got from the machine.
I am thinking that your resolution may be in the fact that UKPC have not abided by the BPA code of practice , as in Grace periods.
13 Grace periods
13.1 Your approach to parking management must allow a
driver who enters your car park but decides not to park,
to leave the car park within a reasonable period without
having their vehicle issued with a parking charge notice.
13.2 You should allow the driver a reasonable ‘grace period’
in which to decide if they are going to stay or go. If the
driver is on your land without permission you should still
allow them a grace period to read your signs and leave
before you take enforcement action.
13.3 You should be prepared to tell us the specific grace period
at a site if our compliance team or our agents ask what it is.
13.4 You should allow the driver a reasonable period to leave
the private car park after the parking contract has ended,
before you take enforcement action.Save a Rachael

It was a PCN on my window, the ticket expired at 16:20 and the ticket was issued at 16:30 with pictures taken at 16:31 from what I remember.
The attendants/wombles were nowhere to be seen, they are like ninjas.0 -
Have a look at those grace periods then. At least ten minutes must be allowed after expiry of paid-for time. They've failed.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I did try that in the POPLA appeal but they were having none of it, saying there was at least ten minutes. It didn't help that I wasted a minute getting the ticket before I parked!0
-
No, there was not at least ten minutes allowed as a grace period, if the PCN was issued at ten minutes.
The minute(s) you took to buy the PCN is not the same grace period. There are two.
A POPLA appeal being lost is NOT a reason to pay.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
