how much to add 18 year old learner driver?

I appreciate this may be a bit of a how long is a length of string question, but could anyone give an approx. estimate on how much it is to add an 18 year old learner driver to my car insurance?


1.4 Polo, currently costing me approx. £160
Thinking of adding daughter and sitting with her on L plates.

So you already have a policy, and you're thinking about adding your daughter as a named driver?

Just phone your insurer and ask. They will take about 5 mins to ask you all the relevant questions (date of birth, occupation etc) then give you a price.

But some insurers won't insure 18 year olds under any circumstances.

In my experience, in very broad terms about £500 extra for a learner, and another £500 on passing the test.
