Does opening bank accounts affect credit rating?

Hello

I have been trying to sort out my finances recently and have opened an ISA and 2 savings accounts in the last 3 months to try to maximise my interest returns. I want to switch my bank account to first direct and then open a savings account with them as well.

However I am concerned that with all of the above that this could hurt my credit rating. Can anyone tell me if I should be worried or if it would be better to take a long term approach and do these things over several months because of the credit checks.

If anyone can advise if it will hurt my credit score??

Thanks

  • Bank accounts will have little impact on how most lenders will see you, as they will have very limited credit facilities, if at all.

Ignore your credit score, whether it changes or not.

Would you say credit searches for current accounts are less damaging than a credit card search?
