What is the legal reasons for quote same day? (is it a Consumer Act Requirement?) (or do you really mean your internal EH sales requirements?)0

The secret unwritten law known only to the people that make it up.
As the WBAC quote is valid for 7 days are you sure the price changes daily?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
For me Evans Halshaw always makes me think of barge poles........“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Like others, I don't believe there is a legal reason. I think your employer is just riding on the back of the fact that WBAC have made a significant investment in their software - and your employer is using it to make sure that you're not overpaying relative to other players in the market.0

Hopefully the post from the EH employee made against forum rules will be removed soon. If it isn't, there is enough in it to show that their process is hopeless anyway. I love the "our quote assumes one owner and fsh". If that info affects the price offered then why not ask for it, rather than give an inflated "best circumstances" quote.

Hi, have just went to wbac and evans halshaw buy your car on same day, wbac gave me a price of £4700 first after checking and deductions for stone chips etc, then without haggling upped my price by £125. Then it was a trip to EH, who said car was in good nic, so good that he would stick it on his forecourt for sale. Anyway computers were running slow, has to send pictures away to central buying team for price, got phone a call 3 hours later saying he would pay 4500 and could go no higher. So its a no brainer who got the car. So much for come to us direct, we pay more than wbac:dance::dance:0

Bumping this as I've just sold my car via EH, they paid £350 more than WBAC offered (and £450 more than the dealer I bought it from new and thats serviced it, offered as well)
Service was reasonable, the process did take 90 min, they went over the car looking for dents and scratches but were OK with a few tiny stone chips said they could be polished out. Next time if i was selling i would look for such small blemishes with more care, and polish those out myself.
But overall i was very happy with the service from them.0 -
I want to share my experiance with evans halshaw burnley with the sell your car team.
I got an online valuation for my car and went down a few days later. I had the appraisal done and we agreed a price. I topped up the valuation by approx 400 pounds paid to them to clear my finance settlement figure. I signed the purchase invoice and handed over my car and keys and log book and all documents relating to the car. The sales person even signed over my car to them on the dvla online system to which i got a copy.
About a week later my finance had still not been settled and they informed me they had found out the car had a hpi issue on nmr (mileage issue) an anomaly they described it as. But not to worry this would be sorted in a few days and payment made. I then got an email 5th dec saying payment was being processed.
Needless to say the payment has still not been paid and ive had to make another finance payment since and the settlement figure has expired.
They now say they dont want my car due to the nmr issue and i must take it back and they will refund my 400 or so pounds back and put the car back in my name. Surely they should of checked this on the appraisal day before they agreed to take the car off me.
I have since bought a new car as i got a purchase invoice off them on the day which we both agreed and signed, and they have had my car since that day 21st nov.
Where do i stand i have a meeting at citizens advice tomorrow, but evans halshaw wont budge and say they never purchased my car and urge me to collect it and they will refund me my monies paid.0
