Late payment showing longer than 6 years

Options
I am in the process of applying for a mortgage after selling my last property a few years ago.

It is now July 2016 and my last mortgage ended in July 2011 (5 years ago)

I am aware that my previous mortgage record will show on my credit history for another year, however, is this supposed to also include the payment history for the full 72 months prior to the end of the mortgage? As these dates then run into payment history for the last 11 years. (6 years of history on credit record, plus 5 years of time passed since mortgage ended)

My problem is this....... My credit history has been perfect for the last 7 years,..... no missed payments on any accounts, including this account in the last 2 years of running. But as my last mortgage still has another year before it drops off my account, it is showing a few late payments in the history, which is from 9 years ago...... as the full payment history for the whole 72 months prior to ending is shown.

Is this correct, or should the payment history drop off after 6/7 years?
