Rossendale bailiff

Iv been here before and really needs some help. Rossendales knocked on my parents door today about a bus lane fine I have from the start for the years. I acknowledge that I owe £97 for the fine but Iv had not other correspondence and they have ramped it up to £407. I'm currently on long term sick from work as I have messed my back up and can't move. Iv been off for 4 weeks so as you can imagine I'm pretty broke. The guy said he doesn't care I have 24hrs to find the money or he's coming back again. Help and advise would be brilliant please.
Thanks

Hi,
Is this the same debt as your other post ?
Did your mother let the bailiff in ? If so they can now return and take goods should you not be able to pay.
You should deal with these people in writing only, perhaps make a token offer of payment.
Also a call to National Debtline may help you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Hi yes I just realised i posted twice my appolagies. No they didn't enter the property but my car was outside her house and he's basically said it's thiers if I don't make payment in 24hr0

Right, do not let the bayliff into the house, keep doors locked, have they clamped your car ?
If not I suggest you move it to some private land somewere if you can.
They will attempt collection 3 times, as I said it's best to put your offer in writing and just pay what you can, when you can, don't deal with the bayliff or enter into protracted discussions with there office, as they will always want payment in full.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Yes I phoned them and they refused to take any form of payment apart from full payment. He hasn't clamped the car so I'm assuming he hasn't levied it yet? I can move it away from my mums and upto my granddads but it will still be on the road as he has no drive?0

You need to move it somewhere far enough that he can't spot it when he drives round and bear in mind they are getting wise to people moving their cars. If you have a friend who would let you store it with them for a few days and give you a lift back I would recommend doing that.
Fines aren't my forte but if you lived at the address that the vehicle was registered to at the time and for a dew months after then you should have had a letter. I've had one of these before now (in an area I was totally not familiar with!) and wrote to the council issuing the fine stating that I agreed I'd been in the lane but I would argue their signage was horrendous and very confusing (it's like a sea of signs!) and they reduced the fine for me...) - It could be worth contacting the council that issued the fine and speaking to them, explain that you have not received the notice, nor any warnings, you moved on x date and prior to that no letters were sent to your address. Chekc what address they sent the notifications to, they should share this with you and also the reference for the fine.
I would contact one of the debt help charities ASAP for help tooDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
