Smart parking

I have been issued by post a £100 fine from so called Smart parking for a measly 6 minutes overstay in a 2hours free car park. I was just seeing about how I could pay it when I had a thought that you now get 10minutes grace period. Is this the case and if so do I appeal, pay or just ignore?! Thanks for any help, Ali:)

Ignoring has not been generally advised since the law changed in 2012!

Similarly, paying is for mugs - as is assuming there is any kind of meaningful legal framework like there is in on-street/council parking.

Smart are pretty easy to see-off, so read the Newbies Sticky at the top of this forum carefully to inform yourself about the current situation and your range of options to deal with them. :)

It is not a fine, it is a speculative invoice.
As advised, please read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES then appeal using the BPA template in blue you will find there.
Copy and paste and send. That's it, stage one appeal done.
Do not pay, do not ignore, do not reveal who was driving, do not miss the appeal deadline.

You will need to read the NEWBIES thread a few times to understand how this unregulated scam industry works, and how to beat it.

Easy to beat at POPLA with our help as long as the driver isn't given away in the first appeal.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
