Getting out of tenancy agreement early

Hi everyone I'm new to this site!
A couple of weeks ago I moved into a property and signed a 6 month tenancy agreement. I now need to move in with my partner as I have become unwell.
What can I do to end the tenancy? Could I sublet it? Thanks in advance

You can leave anytime you like but remain liable for rent etc to end fixed term
Try negotiating an early surrender with landlord, but recognise he doesn't have to agree to anything...0 -
I don;'t have a copy of your tenancy agreement - so I don't know. HaveBipolarSurprise wrote: »What can I do to end the tenancy? Could I sublet it? Thanks in advance
you read it?
If not, have you spoken to your landlord to see what he says?0 -
Normally providing the landlord/estate agent can find someone else to let it you will be okay.
You will have to continue to pay rent until they find someone new to move in.
Providing the rent is being paid the landlord is happy at the end of the day0 -
That may be the case (hence my suggestion OP speak to the LL) but it is very likely the LL will also want reimbursement for his associated costs of finding and vetting a replacement tenant. If an agency is involved, those costs could be considerable (don't get me started on agencies!).amylou1107 wrote: »Normally providing the landlord/estate agent can find someone else to let it you will be okay.

In my own case, there are also inevitable 'turnaround' costs - I always end up doing some cleaning and minor DIY, plus changing the locks etc.0
