ID1 to change ownership.. Do I have to disclose my address?

My OH is in the middle of changing ownership due to divorce and the court has ordered him to give up his property in his ex wife's name. Only issue is that he does not want to disclose his address to her (plenty of valid reasons why!) He has done it with the courts and they have kept it strictly confidential. Cannot use someone elses address due to fraud regulations. Is this possible for him to keep it confidential and still get a solicitor or a chartered conveyencer to sign the documents? Cheers

  • The gov.uk website states that ID1 should only be required if the person is not legally represented, so he may be able to avoid the form if a conveyancer acts on his behalf, which should be the case, really.

    The website also states that ID1 forms are not open to inspection so the ex-wife should anyway not be able to see the form unless it is sent to her by husband/lawyer.

    As Miss S says, if a conveyancer has validated his ID, ten no ID1 is required by the Land Registry.

    For some strange reason the LR trusts solicitors!
