crane hire!

We've nearly bought a hot tub:j but when the guy came to do a survey about where it would go in the garden - he doesn't think it will fit around the side access to our house ... or to our next door neighbours ... or the neighbours behind us. He's suggested that - in the past - they've used a crane to lift it over a house. He's going to get back to us with a price - but - what would be a fair price for something like this??? Any ideas?

I hope you have saved your pennies up as this will end up being a dear do!!
Assuming that you or the hot tub company will not be in charge of the actual lift (eg if something goes wrong, then who is going to take the blame) then you will be looking for what is called a 'contract lift'.
The price for this service will depend on the size of the crane - bare in mind that it will need a good hard standing area.
You will be looking at a minimum of £1000+VAT if it is going to be done properly.
(I used to work in crane hire as you might have guessed!)0 -

Hi
We had our hot tub craned in 2 months ago.The crane reach was 50m (quite long) and it cost £ 400 which was a minimum 1 day hire .We had the tub in the front garden ready to go and it all went like clockwork:T0 -
I am a bit late in posting
. But if you have an issue like this in the future, contact Nationwide Hire UK. They are involved in various rental equipment and crane hire as you mentioned here. I've used them in the past, it was useful.

You also need permission to swing the crane jib over neighbouring properties
Also check their insurance0
