How do you set up a monthly DD to Paypal?

The pic shows that I appear to have set one up from Club Lloyds, but when I try to set up a regular one from BoS, I can't see that option on the Paypal site.

Not sure what you are trying to do - you can't direct debit TO paypal?? You can add another bank account on the paypal site and then 'request money' which will debit your new account if you choose but not sure that's what you are asking?0

Hi,
If you have verified your bank account (PayPal add two small amounts of money to your account and you then enter the values on there website), then PayPal uses your bank details to fund any purchases you make, by DD, or "PayPal Funding" as they call it, instead of your debt card details.
In order to set up "PayPal Funding" from a different account you would need to "add a new bank account" in PayPal, fill n the new details, and then go through the verification process again for the new account.
Hope that helps.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. It seems to be a 'quirk' of paypal that it sometimes shows payments from your bank account as Monthly direct debits.
There's a thread about it here: https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/Subscriptions/Normal-purchase-showing-as-a-Monthly-Direct-Debit-in-Bank/td-p/443625?profile.language=en-gb
I guess you might be able to 'fool' BoS (presumably a Vantage account) into thinking it's a real monthly direct debit if you pay for something with paypal every month.0 -

There seems to be a bit of confusion in relation to bank transfers using your PayPal account.
When you confirm your bank account on PayPal, an online direct debit mandate is set up to allow PayPal authorisation to request the funds from your bank to complete your payments.
For example: If you initiate a payment to come from your bank for £20.00GBP using your PayPal account, PayPal will request these funds from your bank using this direct debit mandate.
I am not sure why some banks show it as a monthly direct debit however rest assured PayPal will only request funds if you have initiated a transaction. It is not an automatic payment system.
If you have cancelled your direct debit mandate with your bank for PayPal, it means that PayPal can no longer request funds or have the authorisation from your bank to process the transactions and they will come back as declined.0 -
You don't, or rather, you can't:cool:.
You cannot set up a monthly payment via DD to PayPal.
You can use PayPal to take a payment, or several payments from different accounts, every month, but it has to be done manually.:(0
