Creed Aventus candle anyone?! :rotfl:
I didn't go to Aldi in the end - decided to do a big shop online via Tesco. So the Aldi candle will have to wait. I will have a look in TKMax though reality at the Pecksniff candles as they sound really cheap. We have a large TKMax near to where I work but I rarely go in there as it's always heaving at lunchtime but I think I will pop in on my way to work and have a look.
Talking of candles, scents etc., I heard that the luxury candle/ fragrance firm Diptyque has just brought out a car diffuser. I had a look online and it was £35 in John Lewis but had already sold out! The one reviewer of it on the JL website wasnt very happy though as she had bought it then found out that you had to buy the fragrance sachet separate and that was £25! It's quite a lot to pay out but I was thinking of a Xmas pressie for DSis. She adores Diptyque and this is the sort of thing that would go down a storm with her. Perhaps DD and I could get one thing each......
Talking of Xmas I did make a start today. DD saw some earrings in The White Company that she liked at the weekend but they only had the display set left. I had a 15% discount code indoors so I ordered them today together with their large Fir Tree candle and room spray which she loves. Also got free delivery and put it through quidco though I'll probably get knocked back as I used the discount code.
I also generally buy DD and OH a joint Xmas pressie for the home - she mentioned a nice basket to hold logs as they had a wood burner fitted in their living room earlier in the year. So I emailed them some links today and they're going to have an "imagineering" session ( as OH calls it!) tonight and let me know!
Oh the joys of the Xmas pressie selection!

Hi there Cumbria Lass - I was lucky in that I received extra cash from work which helped with both clearing my debt and the emergency fund but it's do-able. Originally I was spending willy- nilly on everything for years - I'm not in a bad position now but I should be a lot better off than I am. I'll never be that person that scrimps down to the bone but one day realising that I was £33000 in debt with not a lot to show for it, plus retirement hurtling towards me was a real wake-up call. And having that emergency fund now gives me such peace of mind.
I'm sure you'll finish your pesky debt and have that lovely EF before your five years is up - we'll have a virtual party then!:beer:Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Thanks Hairy and purplebonnie! DSis loves White Company children's nightwear for DNephew. She buys his pyjamas either in the sale or when she has a discount code but says they wash so well compared to other cheaper brands. I think that as well with the nighties - they feel better the more you wash them!
Today is my last day of holiday so back to work tomorrow.. I've really enjoyed my two weeks off and think that having some breaks away and days at home will perhaps be my default fortnight holiday time in future.
I've done all my housework today and won't have to bother at the weekend!:j
I've renewed my annual season ticket on my M&S credit card so have made about £7 here in M&S vouchers and will claim the cost back when I return to work. Have a nail appointment later this evening - £25. Also renewed my contents insurance today - £65.31.
Gym tomorrow night after work and then a bit of a spendy weekend. Out for dinner with friends Friday evening, lunch with other friend on Saturday and going to a charity gig Saturday night as my friend's daughter is singing, but at least I have already bought my ticket for this

Back to work today.
a couple of hours and you feel like you've never been away! Quite a few hundred emails to trawl through and plenty to get on with. In the end I cancelled my gym session tonight and stayed and ploughed through it.
One bright thing - I bought a bottle of limoncello back from Italy for the lovely people in the coffee shop so they can have a snifter on their break! They were so pleased - they are always so nice and cheery in there.
So once again didn't have time to try and sort out the tax bill. Still at least my replacement Fitbit had arrived whilst I was away and was waiting for me!:).
And DD and OH have decided they are going to build a place for their logs in the alcove in the living room so I won't need to buy the Xmas log basket!
