In tennis, left-handers impart spin on the ball that is opposite of that which a right hander would hit. As a result, right-handed players (who are accustomed to playing right handers) have difficulty dealing with a left-hander's shots which curve in a direction opposite to what they are accustomed to facing. Rafael Nadal, despite being right-handed, plays left-handed tennis after being encouraged to do so by his coach for this very reason.

On the subject of left handers and sport my oh is left handed but plays sports righthanded (darts, snooker, golf, tennis)!! My eldest daughter is the same too. He's always been a bit strange! :rotfl:

Thanks for this. It's a great site. Me and my hubby are both right handed but 2 of my 3 boys are left handed. My little one who is only 18 months looks as though he'll be left handed as well. :eek: :eek:

Gosh there's lot's of questions. I'm a lefty although discovered yesterday I can write reminders on my left hand as well as my right hand. Anyone else???!

I'm left handed, OH is right handed and my middle girl is left handed, the 2 boys are right handed.

My dad was left handed, mum right and 4 out of 5 of us were left handed. And the only right hander was the one that did things the wrong way round (you know set the table wrong etc!)

I went for the nail scissors as I always have trouble cutting the nails on one hand. Strange though that I can't use left handed scissors but use normal right handed ones fine.
