There is the following question on the Barclaycard application online:
Do you expect your current annual income to permanently decrease in the next 12 months?
Yes /No
I selected 'No', as ly incomr won't decrease. Then the following message on the right hand side of the application appeared:
If your income will decrease temporarily (e.g. due to maternity leave) then you should select 'No'. As a responsible lender, Barclaycard needs to ensure the credit limit is affordable given known future changes in income.
It's odd though that message appears, as my income won't decrease despite selecting 'No'. Is it a typo in their system? I think that prompt should say: If your income will decrease temporarily (e.g. due to maternity leave) then you should select 'Yes'.
What do you guys think?
Please advise. Also when selecting 'Yes' as a test the exact same message appears.

I've just been on the site and it isn't a typo. The question asked is
Do you expect your current annual income to permanently decrease in the next 12 months?
and the message that pops up is
'If your income will decrease temporarily (e.g. due to maternity leave) then you should select 'No'.
What they are emphasising is that if it is a permanent decrease eg. change of job, part time working etc. you should select 'yes'. If it is temporary eg. maternity leave, you should select 'no'.0
