    I agree with agentk.

If you dont go to interviews because of your anxiety you never will go to an interview. You need to make a start with the interviews.
  • Dress to impress, but you don't want to peacock yourself. Go for neutral colours and nicely fitted. For retail jobs it depends on the interviewers, but there's usually 2 types. 1st that isn't aware they're looking for a retail assistant and wants all the bells and whistles, and 2nd who knows that the most important thing is your personality is positive and you fit well with the existing team.

  • Thanks guys. You all really helped a lot. Gave me the shove to go.
it was on the shop floor.. Seemed quite unprofessional? 6 members of staff all different levels watching and writing down things.
had to do the whole introduce your neighbour. Was only hard because my neighbour shrugged at every question.. And didn't say much!!
and a group task of designing a piece of new technology for Argos.. That was hard because 1.i had no idea and 2. I was grouped with 5 men who were very overbearing., either speaking in am accent I could hardly understand or teenage boys who never stopped to let me speak and took the task way to Serious. Feel like they left me out a lot. When u tried to butt in they spoke over me. Quite intimidating.
it was then form filling and etc and they explained min 6hr contract.. I'm looking for full
time and didn't realise the shifts would be so small..

but I did it. So thank you all. Having a beer lol x
  • Oh and 2 of the staff in control of writing down about the I interviewees were only teenagers who kept giggling..
also I wore a blouse and formal trousers. One man wore a shirt and trousers.. And the rest had jeans trainers and were totally casual...

Well done. Even if the job turns out not to be for you, the next interview will be that little bit less scary.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

They could have been 'Trainee interviewers' tho slightly sad if this wasn't explained from outset - I had this at Sainsbos in fairness, the laughing Newie interviewer actually helped and was by far the more willing me on during the day shop floor assessment. I got the non group interview job at 12 hours per week but turned them down. The laughing only stopped on being asked why this company at interview.

Anyway glad you went. Apologies I've just seen you asked for previous repliers occupations I am due to return to call handling/Customer Service (non manager level) after a stint in data entry in an ex call centre so class myself totally as novice/level entry.
6 months service in the salary will increase by £500 which the company has put in writing.
