  • Aw well done , those sound like good jobs. Thanks for not looking down on my situation like some would x
  • I have been asked in interviews if you were an animal what would you be and why. My answer - a golden retriever as I am loyal and hard working.

Also got asked if you had to describe youself as a colour, what would you be and why. I answered green. Because I feel green is a calming colour and I am calm when under pressure.
  • That's helpful thank you x

what biscuit would you be and why?
what electrical.appliance would you be and why?
design a cover for new Argos book?
what animal are you like etc..

Biscuit - if anyone asked me this I would be thinking "It's your first interview and I want to disembowel you with a letter opener" while answering Bourbon because I'm popular and quite sweet inside.

Electrical appliance - same thoughts and I'd probably tell the interviewer that their questions leave something to be desired, and answer electric screwdriver - once they see you in action they will wonder how they ever did without you.

Cover - just like ever other cover with an iron and some diagonal stripes, and a smiling family somewhere living the Argos dream

Animal - by this time I'd walk out the interview after swearing at the interviewer for getting their questions from google. You could answer gazelle - calm nature but ready to spring into life when needed.

I had an interview last Friday. For a driver. One to one so no help to you. Quite informal but i did turn out in shirt and tie. Waiting to hear. I was warned the new fast track system was in someway not working in store whether this was down to the pickers or something else. So might be picking as well. Seems a lot of employees had left. I will give it go if it gets to much. I have other work so ...

    Good luck

Just remember the other candidates will also be nervous.

I wish you luck for the interview.
  • I cant go. I feel physically sick and have convinced myself its a bad idea. My anxiety has a grip and it would be a waste of time embarrassing myself.
    so disappointed :(
  • I would be terrified too but if it were my first interview in years then perhaps go along, roll with it and consider it 'training' for future interviews. If you get a job from it then good job, if not then look at it as a way to learn how to cope with an interview which should make it easier for the next one. Deep breaths and smile. Good luck.

  • BTW, last job I applied for, I did the informal interview no problem. Day I was due to start I was so terrified that I parked in the car park and couldn't get out of the car. Had a Royal Mail van not blocked me in then I would have bottled it. Good job I didn't, it was a great job with lovely people.

I suffer from anxiety too hence the driving position not a people person prefer my own company. You really need to go and push yourself and face it full on. I find going with the thought i wont get the job and being blah say about it sometimes works in my favour. If i/you make an idiot of yourself will you really meet these people again. Its a tick box exercise. At living wage their begging for staff and the turnover is a high. And if you do get it treat it as stepping stone to another job not a career. ;)
