Universal credit not been paid

Options
My universal credit payment was due yesterday but wasn't in my account when I woke u. I called UC and was told the money was sent that morning and to make sure I haven't changed my bank account ?! I said I'm sure my bank account is the same as always and he just said it was definitely sent to you. So I checked bank every ten mins till 12pm rang bank they said they can't tell me what's due in my account so I rang UC a further three times was cut off due to high volume of calls after fifteen minutes of robot talking crap.

Finally get through to them and they said can I ring back in four hours as theyre system is down and has done this every day this week apparently. I asked could this be why I've no payment she said I suppose it could be, I said well i was told it was sent to me this morning she said just check your bank account.

Still not in at 5pm couldn't get through to them then at 6pm phone lines shut till Monday!

Money still not in today. I am annoyed as you get no answers from universal credit whatsoever and theeyre systems are always down it failing. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or knows how long it takes once systems have failed etc.

Sadly, this is a regular occurrence.

When you call on Monday, also get them to open a complaint.

They can advance a payment so it is sent and arrives within hours, so they should also do this, while they investigate the system failure or whatever happened (almost 80% are IT errors, the rest are down to human error at the DWP with failed UC payments).
Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.

Just wondering if it's worth emailing your MP to make them aware of your UC experiences.
Since they voted this in, they should know what is happening.
If your UC farce continues it may be possible they could intervene on your behalf.

  • It's the first time it's ever been late. My colleagues UC is due tomorrow and she recceiveed her payment yesterday so obviously people were getting paid. I think they should have had people in today open phone lines etc for when they've had failures as they must know people need them over the weekend. Usually I've had wrong payment amount and I rig and within an hour the rest of the payment cones through. I might email mp and inform him as its so bad this system, tax credits are so much easier

As a matter of interest, what date was your last payment on?

Hi, this does seem to happen alot, i do hope its all sorted out on Monday for you.

I cant imagine what it would be like if U.C was rolled out for everyone at once. Scary thought.
  • My last payment was 17th august. It's due 17 each month and if it's sat or Sunday then you receive it on Fridays.
  • No this is the first time this has happened. Money still not in this morning so will ring them at 8
  • Still not been paid, keep ringing and told be paid by end of day but still no payment yesterday or today. Currently. Back on the phone to then now which is taking forever to answer. I am seriously fed up as we have no money and have rent and council tax due last week when I should have had my payment . It's now beyond a joke
