Cheapest switch?

I have just switched to Eon as this shows the biggest saving over a year for us, but MSE shows that British Gas as the cheapest 1 year fix. Can anyone explain this please. I would have thought that the cheapest would the gig gets saving.

Its actual unit and standing charges that matter not an estimated annual saving .

New tariffs come out all the time prices also vary by region .
  • cheapest fix means you have security of price, IE price is fixed for 12 months. As above, otherwise you change supplier and next week price goes up.
