This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Morning all
I will be dropping my L&M of at the station soon, then I have someone collecting an ebay item at 7, once that's been collected I shall drive to DD1's to collect her for our day's workshop.
I've made lunch for DD & I my L&M will buy something out as he doesn't want to be lugging any extra stuff around with him.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Morning everyone.
Thanks for the thread HH
No idea why I'm awake apart from needing the loo. Hoping to get a little more sleep before facing the day. It's still dark outside.
Probably more later. Meanwhile, happy Saturday.0 -
Good morning, still a bit dark but there has been an amazing full moon, so bright.
Today I have a plan and that is messing about.
OH's birthday today, must dig out his card and presents. As I hid them.
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning folks. Thanks HESTER. Lovely calm start here and some sun forecast too. The blowy wind of yesterday has died down but at least it helped to dry the washing in record time.
Fluid plans for today. There is a mountain of ironing to do at some point but, meanwhile, the basket is hidden away in the wardrobe. It may even stay there till after the weekend.
My trip into Harrogate last Monday was fruitless as I found neither sandals nor a shrug for the wedding. I'm quite pleased about the lack of shoes as yesterday I came across a pair of pewter sandals hidden away that I had bought for DD's wedding yonks ago. They go perfectly with the dress so problem sorted! Just a shrug to look for now so may pop in town and browse our rubbish shop selection later. Oh I do hate clothes shopping!
Not given a thought to meals for the day though the fridge and freezers are well stocked so will have a rummage in a bit. Meanwhile breakfast is calling and it will be my usual avocado and poached egg. I never tire of it!
Have a good day whatever you are up to. (((HUGS))) where wanted/needed esp HILSTEP and LAINEY and her DM. Hope JACKIE is having fun in Scotland. Take care all xx ps Happy Birthday Mr AOD!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning everyone,
Cloudy and cold here, boy did it rain yesterday, there was flash floods everywhere and stayed cloudy all day so didn't get to see the Harvest Moon AOD.
Tough day in many ways, we had a meeting with the Oncologist and he talked us through rate of growth, what we can expect etc. My darling Mum chose not to know expected timescales so I sat with her whilst DB had a private word and then he let me know once we had left the ward. Think the success of her op has rather clouded the situation and then reality smacked us in the face yesterday. It won't be long.
So, all systems go to get her home early next week?
Not sure what will be doing today, need to get over to see Bill at some point as has been a couple of days, other than will run the hoover round and maybe get some washing done as can go in the airers.
Glad to hear that the sandal situation is solved TA, it always surprises me what I have lurking in my own wardrobe
Have a good day everyone, take care folks x0 -
Morning folks, thanks for the thread Hester. What workshop are you going to?
Hugs Lainey - I hope you manage to get mum home to be with you all xx
Happy Birthday Mr AOD
I am up early (for a Saturday) as my BFF has booked us a spa day for my birthday last week. She will be here shortly and then we will be out most of the day yippee!

Morning All
Happy Birthday to Mr AOD.
Have a lovely day HH and Coxy.
Hugs to you Lainey.
Well, the sun is shining and the washing is on the line, towels dried yesterday, bedding and other stuff out today.
Went to weed my veggies yesterday and was offered another raised bed when they are built, I also got a key so I can go in whenever I want to which is good as I struggle to get there after work before they lock up.
Everything looking good there and growing well, not sure anything will be ready to eat but the mild weather will give it all a good start.
Going for afternoon tea today with some work friends, not my favourite thing to do but the chat should be good. Really must do some food shopping today as the cupboards are very bare!
Have a good weekend. Take care. XX0 -
Morning all
Hester thanks for starting us off today and enjoy the workshop.
Lainey its been really wet here too. I believe its turning to hoodie weather .
Coxy enjoy your spa day.
Well DH went to see FIL yesterday and from what i can gather he is slightly improved, but still in a bad way. I will know more when DH gets back later today.
Had a very lazy day yesterday as i just CBA. Spent most of the day watching movies (well at least i did what the doctor ordered for one day )
Dinner last night was a takeaway pizza as it was just DD2 and me and more movies. Didn't get to bed till around 2 then up at 6 as i just cant settle when DH is not here.
Today's plans involve me freezing diving and cupboard diving to see what i have left and then menu planning for the week, so dinner tonight is a mystery.
DW on and no doubt there will another loads for the WM later ( i didn't use the TD yesterday as i put it on the airier instead)
Anyhoo i hear life from upstairs so need to get a wriggle on .
Hugs to all in need xBright Blessings xx0 -
Morning all,
DD and I went out to a work mates party it was in the woods at work and I was dreading that it would be a dull affair, but it was brilliant there was a great big fire and a disco and lots of wine, we danced the night away and my head and feet are a tad sore today
I have a towel wash on the go which I will hang on the line its a blowy day we need to have a good tidy through and do some more washing.
This afternoon I think I might have to have a nap as I was awake at 6 after a late night.
Hugs to Hilstep and Lainey
Have good days all xx0 -

Lainey (((HUGS))) Whatever time your Mum has left, may it be painfree and pleasant. x
And you know what to do now, don't you? - Go and tell Bill all about it. Give him a hug from me while you're there. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
