Advice on Rear car bump...

I'm not trying to "manipulate a situation". Im just asking why you would consider asking the other party for £50, when it wouldn't be put towards a repair?
Re reading your OP it certainly doesn't come across as "in jest"......
I understand you're annoyed but I don't really understand your "option 1" at all? I'm honestly curious!0 -
It is most likely a term and condition of you policy that you have to notify them of all incidents. So really you should notify them of the incident. You might find that the other driver might put in a claim against your policy and say you did something wrong. Or, he could claim through his insurance for the damage, and the insurers might call your insurer to see if you're claiming.
The fact that you've had an accident will increase the premium. Whether you claim or not.
But if it's non-fault to you then you'll keep your NCB.0 -

I have come here for advice. It's clear you have none of that to give so I'm done after this in responding to you.
Your post was trying to create something that wasn't there, it's clear from the other forum viewers reply I'm not the only one thinking that!
My initial post said I wouldn't swap a full bumper for it, it doesn't mean that with £50 I wouldn't give it a bloody good go myself at polishing/t-cutting or trying to get my bumper back to as new as possible condition. Hopefully that answers your curiosity.0 -
Not really as a bottle of T Cut is about £7?
And I'm sorry if you've been mis informed but this a discussion forum, not an "advice" only forum.
I wasn't trying to "create something" that wasn't there...... I was simply asking questions about statements you made. I'm sorry if you think otherwise....0 -
The thread title was "Advice on Rear car bump"
His opening line was "Never had an accident before but after some much needed advice."
My advice is to go through your insurers OP, and get your wife checked out - I hope everything's ok. I also advise you to ignore the "Generation Snowflake" type who take offence at the drop of a hat!0
