I was recommended a solicitors to use by the estate agent - in the the belief that the buying process would go smoothly.
not only are they more expensive, i have now seem some negative reviews on these solicitors.
i am not sure if i should still stay with them.
i am at the stage where, the solicitors have received a notification of sale from the estate agent advising who involved in this sale and i have been asked to complete a Client Instruction Form.
could i still change?

Pretty sure this means you haven't officially instructed them and can still change. They're only your solicitor when you fill in the form and there's normally a cooling off period. Just let them know asap and tell the agent as they have to do their end againSaving for a deposit. £5440 of £11000 saved so far:j0

my understanding is that the estate agent gets a commission for 'suggestion / recommending' these solicitors.
i guess i am worried that it could jeopardise the sale with the vendor.
i might just be panicking0 -
* have they sent you their terms of business and contract?
* have you signed their contract and returned it?
* have you signed anything?
* if so, were you at home, or in their office?
* have you paid them an initial amount to cover discbursements?0 -
@G_M, nope, have not signed anything or paid anything.0

Then you have not instructed them formally.@G_M, nope, have not signed anything or paid anything.
For the avoidance of doubt, write to them informing them you have decided not to use their services. No explanation required just a short statement. Either email or post and keep a copy.
Then select alternative conveyancer, and give the details to the estate agent.0 -
Do it, and do it now.
And don't bow to the pressure they'll then put you under no doubt.0 -
Omg don't use any of the EA services if you value your sanity and wallet"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Terminate their services. Ring around 3-4 different solcitors and get quotes. I found the prices varied DRASTICALLY.
Not using the EA's solicitors will not jeopardise the sale.0
