Waitrose on-line ordering - does anyone have refund issues?

I recently placed an on-line order and subsequently got two replacement items which I rejected on delivery.
A week later no refund. I've called the branch all week and the automated phone service advises they are busy due to the volume of calls they are getting. I get this every time I go to this extension, even first thing in the morning.
I called again and went through another extension and spoke to someone who said the refund was still pending and had not been processed - but would now be.
This got me thinking. Why so long to refund? Does Waitrose not pay refunds for rejected items? My advice - check for your refund.

Refunds are processed manually through a till. They are done when somebody has time to do them. Sometimes this means it might take a bit longer than expected.
They really are not trying to con customers out of a few returned items.0 -
If you have to think about this you should really stop shopping in Waitrose and go to netto in future.0

Who the hell are Netto?[/QUOTE]
Can't imagine that someone would be careless with their cash if they shopped at Netto and avoided the refund issues at Waitrose...0
