Only played four holes and got soaked good to see everyone and they are all nice. Trying to dry clothes out easier said than done with no heating.

Spoke to head of committee services at council he finds it unusual that I haven't heard from the councillors so will forward and email and find me a contact at the council to speak to. We shall see latest update is that temporary water heaters will be installed next week. Yeah right I believe that when I see it still doesn't help the heating.

Not done a lot today nice to just chill after I got back. DG is on her way home no golf tonight too wet.

Quite a bit to do tomorrow on my last day of freedom so doing a list tonight so I don't forget anything.
    1. Claim volunteer expenses - done
    2. Fill in exit survey for volunteering - done
    3. Do training and feedback for new training - done
    4. Drop bills off at council - done
    5. Buy two pin to three pin plug - looked but might get cheaper elsewhere tomorrow
    6. Book hotel for tomorrow night waiting for prices to drop to get good deal -done
    7. Clean room heaters. - done
    8. Dig out passport and P60 and P45 for new job
    9. Gym & shower - done
    10. washing - done
    11. pack golf clubs and empty car - done

My insoles turned up this afternoon just after I've got a new pair made and a second pair on order. Amazing turns out my mum hadn't put the house number or road on just postcode and town. Mind you there is only on building in that post code but still good on the postie to get it to me. :T

Got a nice certificate and card from my volunteering place will miss it been fun doing client work again but glad I'm not going into a caseworker post so much paper work and regulation now.

Got heaters sorted out now in two rooms plus toilet so we can dry clothes too. Spent £10 on extension so just need two pin plugs as guy who left them behind must have got them in Germany they are great though so worth taking for our use. Think we can cope with no heating and at the moment we get £6 a day off the rent from September it will be £10 a day. That's what we have decided will cost about £144 a month to live here all in. Would still rather have heating and hot water but don't hold out much hope for both.

List going well and it's lovely weather here too which is helpful for this cold building.

Going to do exit survey in a min forgotten it was on the list think I'll book hotel tonight when DG is back. Got 11% off at hotels.com doesn't count towards your free night but decent discount.

Get to hotel at 8pm DG got stuck in train hassle someone on the tracks. Hotel is nice not over nice but £86 and there's a spa which is nice not that we're going to use it. Ate at home and brought food and drinks. Will get breakfast at spoons tomorrow so nice and cheap.

Look forward to seeing the cats too. Spoke to my dad he's at my sisters we gave him an iPad he's struggling to suss it out but it was nice to speak to him anyway and see them all.

Hair cut tomorrow much needed and cheaper down here. Bit of golf practise at my old club didn't bring all the clubs then seeing friend for dinner and staying at his then lunch with other friend who works where my dream job is Sunday.

Enjoying a relaxing bath right now lovely as I can't have one at out place even when there is hot water.

Thank I'm quite looking forward to starting tomorrow but it will be hard after 5 months off. I do hope they have some stuff ready for me but we shall see I think it's a blank canvass which suits me.

Weekend a draining Friday lovely Saturday all nice until 4pm when we decided to go to my old golf club to hit some balls. We were in th club house tops five min but the car was broken into and my handbag and DGs weekend bag gone plus back window smashed and car scratched. We got onto the police did the calls to the banks and also the insurance took almost three hours but we got it my friends and had a nice evening.

This morning about 9.30 got a call to say it had been handed in two bags and they were now ready to collect at a central police station. Had to cancel seeing my friend but got he bags and only thing missing was my driving licence and my iPhone 7.

Cancelled car insurance claim excess is £430 and damage is minimal to be honest after a new glass get fitted (won't be done until Wedsnesday so annoying). Car insurance only covers £150 worth of personal belongings but we have phone insurance with nationwide so the phone is covered bar £100.

Window will be £75 but I got my Kipling rucksack and wallet back and also DGs brand new bag probably over £130 to replace all theee. DG had loads of clothes in the bad so nice to get that back. They also stole the five bottles of wine I was taking to my friend that could be covered but I loose three years no clams bonus so would be expensive.

Tired tonight glad to be back just need to get SIM card tomorrow before work and cancel driving license I cannot do this online. Got my Oyster cards back too so ready to top up tomorrow with travel card will only need zone two no one and two so saving there.

Night night all hope you had a slightly less expensive weekend.

Thanks guys I slept ok only awake to go to the loo around 3.30am did also have an early night. Bit nervous hard to eat breakfast.

Not going to try and get a sim today as I have no phone it's kind of irrelevant and just adds to the stress I'll get it sorted tomorrow. Txt from two friends wishing me luck this morning and a picture of Thomas who I didn't get to see at the weekend. That was lovely!

Don't have to be in until 10 which is great. Going to allow one hour to get there so don't have to get up yet, god butterflies in my stomach. As you say I'm only the newbie on day 1 and I do actually know two of the people there been years since I saw them but they should remember me.

Work going well I'm enjoying it but it's very much fend for yourself no induction not sure who to ask but getting there people are nice but very overworked. Lots of changes needed which I love.

Got a works phone it's a Samsung it's not as nice as an iPhone but it's a phone and it's hard to be phonelss actually. Sim has arrived phone claim being looked at tomorrow then if passed phone gets dispatched hopefully Monday would be fab.

Pension signed up for 5.1% max contribution so IFA can transfer two old pensions. Funny new one is with Scottish widdows which I was with a long time ago but we have just transferred out off.

DG fed up with her job but she's done a test for a possible interview and an agency has rung about another job it's a long way from here so not ideal. I'm ok with my journey bit long between busses no trans but if I get my phone back at least I can time it better. Roll on Waterloo being sorted it's so annoying.
