Does anyone have any recommendations for a wifi camera with recording feature to memory card that I can use to achieve the following;
I want to be able to put something up in the corner of a room to record several business training days. I'd run power. Sound is not important.
Each day we would remove the SD card and put in a new one (this is for a 4 days)
I would like to be able to view the footage afterwards and ideally play it fast so I can watch the whole day in, say, 60 seconds (this bit is all to do with the video program afterwards so not necessarily a feature of the camera itself)
I mention wifi so I can periodically check in with my phone.
I guess thats pretty much any security camera available on Amazon that records to card but am I missing anything?

Depends on the resolution that you require and the storage capacity.
To record 8 hours you may need 64GB cards.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
The problem in most such cameras is poor video quality, poor interface poor power life, or all three.
The NETGEAR Arlo Q and Watchbot are two I've used that are top drawer. But If you're not looking to spend that kind of money then maybe use an old HDD/SD camcorder or decent camera old smartphone instead?0 -

2)I'll run power so battery life is not an issue.
3)With regards to the poor interface - if you are referring to the viewing software supplied then i'm not really going to be viewing it live apart from the odd occasion to check all is well - its the final footage on the SD card at the end of the sessions that i'm interested in.
I'll probably just buy a wifi Foscam or equivalent that records to the MicroSD card with sufficient capacity. I just checked and a 64Gb card is less than £15 on Amazon and 128Gb around £30 ish.
cheers for the input.0 -
I took delivery of a 720p HD wireless camera last week.
I got it via eBay from a UK seller for £19.99 including free delivery.
A friend bought a similar one a few weeks ago from Chinese seller and was impressed with it for the money.
At under £20 I bought mine to play with and I have to say it's really good.
Plug it in and connect it to the network. Download the mobile app for either Apple or Android from the App Store or Google Play and you can see the stream from anywhere.
Not only that you can pan, tilt and zoom the camera simply by dragging you finger across the mobile screen. It has built in mic and speaker so you can listen and speak - "Get off the sofa dog"
There is also software for PC and Mac or you can use any browser. Mine doesn't have an SD card slot, However you can record via the app on the phone, if you have enough free memory or onto a PC directly to HDD.
It has IR night vision and motion sensing and can email pictures when activated.
There are models that do and they also do a 1020p resolution model.
I'm currently playing with it on my Raspberry Pi via python.
