yep just ignore the fact laurel gives off cyinide gas when burned

Which is flammable too. Not a problem if you burn it outdoors as I used to when I had a laurel hedge.
For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.

I would have shredded all the stuff that was cut and put that back on the area as well.

If you want it to look nicer a top layer of bark or wood chip if you can find some cheap. Probably need a couple of builders bags worth.

I use a leaf blower(sucking) to break up our leaf drop to reduce volume and break down quicker on the compost.

You could set up a compost bin somewhere and just keep filling it ours that takes our kitchen waste is now so full of worm stuff gets eaten real quick when added.

One of my compost bins, the plastic jobbies the council supplied, has recently been invaded by an ant colony. Never even noticed them as it's not been opened since last autumn as is way away from the house.
They have "processed" every bit of organic matter. What was a full 48" tall bin is now 12" of the finest fertiliser you could imagine.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
