Formal letter of claim - Wright Hassall

I've just received a formal letter of claim from Wright Hassall.
It relates to a PCN from overstaying in a 1hour free parking space at a fast food restaurant back in May 2016.
I contacted the restaurant when the first letter was received from Civil Enforcement but all they could do was apologise and hope it doesn't put me off from visiting them again!
Since then I have had letters from ZZPS and Wright Hassall but have taken what I think is now old advice to simply ignore these letters. I have kept all correspondence from Civil enforcement ltd, ZZPS and Wright Hassall.
I have read the newbie section, I've tried to log on with Pepipoo but for some reason I never receive a link to validate my account?!
Is it worth taking this up with POPLA? Or shall I just pay it?
Any advice appreciated
Thanks

Is it worth taking this up with POPLA?

Or shall I just pay it?
Pretty obviously, neither is an option (and POPLA cannot help as you missed that).

Did you miss the heading 'Small Claim?' in the NEWBIES FAQS thread at the top of this forum, and all the other small claim threads with defences we have on here? Start your reading now...

If you get a claim, you will need to defend this and even if you lose, you'd pay less than £200 (no CCJ nor effect on credit rating as long as you do not ignore the paperwork/miss a deadline) so paying up now would be daft. Don't do it.

Read other threads by searching 'defence Civil Enforcement' and be aware that they CANNOT hold you liable as registered keeper so do not name the driver, nor imply it, in your defence. See other threads for defences people have shown, when you search.

At the moment you do not have a claim though, only a LBA/Letter of Claim? Respond then, robustly, as you will find on LOTS of other threads search 'LBCCC response' on this board.

DO NOT PAY FOR AN 'EASY LIFE' because the amount is inflated over £100 and this is defendable - also those who pay, knowing our advice is not to do so, are joining the scam and funding the next PCN against the next people. NOPE. Similar situation here so compare notes with this poster - but more importantly, read other people's threads where they have already responded to Letters of Claim robustly in 2016 and copy from their words:

You can do this but you need to be more:''Mr Angry but well informed'' and try to see it off by responding to the letters and demanding evidence of a contract (NOT saying who parked & what happened!!).

DO NOT REPLY IF YOU GET A PRIVATE MESSAGE FROM ANY POSTER HERE WITH LESS THAN 1000 POSTS, OFFERING TO 'HELP'. COULD BE ANYONE, COULD BE A PARKING FIRM AND WILL NOT BE A PERSON WITH YOUR BEST INTERESTS AT HEART.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Escalate that complaint to the Head Office/CEO of the restaurant and/or the site agent or landowner (Google the place).

    Get angry.

But firstly respond to the LBC, after reading the dozens of other examples here already. Loads of them, try reading BW Legal threads which send similar 'pre-court' letters; you can adapt the suggested responses to suit this case.
