Laminate peaking - is it fixable?

We have laminate in our living room which was down when we moved in (about 18 months ago) which is now 'peaking' in various places - most annoyingly by the door so it won't shut anymore!
It's fitted under skirting boards so I can't easily see what kind of gap's been left round the edges (from poking round the internet I'm guessing this could be the problem?). Is it likely that this could be fixed?
Any advice appreciated!

A couple of things can be causing this. Dampness, either from a leak, or a spillage .
More than likely, poor allowance on expansion. The only way to know is to get the skirting off and check. If its peaking on the length of the boards then the skirting needs to be taken off on ends of the room, for the width the skirting taken off the sides. You will be able to un-click the laminate boards and cut more off, refit and you should be ok then...I have nothing better to do!!!!

not all laminate is "click" type, but otherwise, it will most likely be an expnsion issue. which way have they been laid near the door? do they run parallel to the door bar or at right angles to it?0

Thanks for replies.
It's parallel to one door and at right angle to another! Guess I need to pluck up the courage to remove the skirting...0
