Sports direct. Sent wrong items

I'm after some advice please. I purchased two pairs of shoes from Sports Direct online & opted for the click & collect service.
The items arrived in store but when I got them home & opened the package I noticed that they had the correct sizes that I ordered on the labels but the actual shoes were both the next size up. As they are unsuitable to wear, I'm going to have to send them back but I don't want them to send the wrong size again. I have read on their returns policy that if I get a refund, I will not get my postage costs covered, even though it is their fault.
So I'm wondering what I should do in regards to returns/refund etc.

Take them back to the store and get them to handle the return.
  • They have the european sizings on them too which are also different than the sizing on the labels. I will have a look on their customer services bit.

Are you saying the shoes don't actually fit (regardless of what size they say they are)? I ask because I get through a lot of running shoes and tennis shoes and I know that I take different sizes in different brands. And one size bigger isn't a lot(?). In fact my current tennis shoes are a size bigger than my running shoes and they're the same brand. I always think better too big than too small.

I don't know about Sports Direct online but one of the problems with their local shop is they only seem to stock full sizes not half sizes.

Edit: When you say "next size up" I presume you mean a full size not a half size?

OP are you saying that basically the wrong label has been attached? If so, they should refund postage costs also as the goods do not conform to contract (providing the shoes are the wrong size ofc rather than the shoes being correct and the label being wrong).

In that case I'd also expect any replacement would be correctly labelled.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
