UKPCL Fine Outside my house
Cozzi
I have recently moved into a new town house, with UKPC covering the parking spaces to each house.
I received a parking pass the day I moved in, which is a sticker most stick to their windscreen.
I did not peel the sticker section off the permit, but wedged it on the A-Pillar, facing out so all the information could be seen through a pre-cut panel on the sticker, the only information that could not be seen was the UKPC logo and their 'watermarking'
The photos they have provided show very clearly my permit, they took one specifically of it to the point you can see the handwritten information on it!
I have not appealed as this point, and only received it yesterday after it being acceptable all week exactly how it was.
The parking attendant must have had 'his panties up in a bunch' that afternoon!
What would be your advice? Thanks in advance!

All the advice is in the NEWBIES FAQ thread.
If this is a windscreen ticket, wait until about 25 days after the ticket date then appeal online/email (howsoever UKPC allow appeals) using the Blue appeal text wording. (This wording is carefully drafted to appeal as Keeper without identifying the Driver).
What does your lease/tenancy/deeds say regarding parking?0 -
I did read the thread but as this is my first time on here I got a bit lost with all the legalities.
The Tenancy says very little. The day I move in I was handed an envelope by the estate agent with the pass in.
I will wait the 25 Days and make the appeal then. I believe its online, so I'm not sure I can 'copy and paste' the text into their probable web form.0 -

Yes you can, I've done it loads of times and I wrote it to fit webpages like UKPC's own page. Make sure you choose 'registered keeper' in the drop down menu and IGNORE their reply which will beg to be told the driver.
And while you are on their webpages, look at the photos and take copies of their 'evidence' which will help you at POPLA because they can almost never show a readable sign! You can only appeal to POPLA when you get the POPLA code in the end, next month probably, from UKPC. Their own small print signage pics can illustrate the POPLA appeal.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The car is a company car if this changes any matters? I should have stated this.
I have spoke to my director and told him about the charge and if anything comes into them, they will pass it straight to me.0 -
Appealing the windscreen ticket means they'll probably forget to seek keeper details from DVLA anyway, so it's unlikely the company will receive anything.

When you say Company Car ... WHO is registered as the keeper of the vehicle? Your employer, or a lease company (like ALD, Arval, etc.)?0 -
That's covered in the NEWBIES first post, near the top of the forum, just tells people to make sure they appeal by day 25 to a windscreen PCN to stop it ever going to the company or their lease firm (if they lease their cars, someone at the Lease firm might just pay it, otherwise, which is why bod1467 was concerned about a lease car). The car is a company car if this changes any matters? I should have stated this.
You will be fine as long as you appeal around day 25 and in fact, you are the 'keeper' of the car so the template doesn't need changing. That's why I wrote it with that word, which covers anyone with day to day responsibility to 'keep' a car.
On the drop-down menu choose 'hirer/lessee' if offered but if not, just choose 'registered keeper' anyway - certainly NOT 'driver'!!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The company own the car, they are the registered owners, and fund the car.
I will wait the 25 days and send the email using the template. I may also mention that permit is very clearly in the window as seen in all thier 'evidence' photos, it just hasnt has the sticker taken off it.0 -
Yes I agree it is worth adding and should be said at POPLA stage in the introduction to your appeal then, that the car's permit IS displayed, as their evidence shows.
At this stage, you can add a line but be careful that ad-lib lines do not imply who parked/was likely driving.
Not 'I placed my permit...'!!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
