My 08 Zafira petrol had it's third safety recall on Wednesday. The blower resistor was replaced, Thursday the ( car with a spanner) Engine electronics, transmission electronic, diesel fuel filter immobiliser came on and went off today it's come on and stayed on. Is it connected in anyway to the work Vauxhall carried out please?

Huh? Did they change the engine from petrol to diesel on the recall?

Seriously, a blower resistor is a fairly simple, non invasive item to change. Can't see any connection to the subsequent issue.

No they didn't. The light illuminates when running in the handbook it's Engine electronics , transmission electronics, diesel fuel filter, or immobiliser. My question is the fault in the engine or transmission electronics due to them tinkering with the car the previous day. As expected they deny any connection I wanted a second opinion please.

Probably not related, but you can never be sure with modern cars thanks to everything being networked without reading the fault codes to see what's going on. Even then they're not always unambiguous.

On my '93 build 5 series disconnecting the instrument panel with the battery connected put the airbag light on - when the only part of the airbag system in the panel is the warning light. The system sees the bulb go "dead" (cos it's not there), realises that means it can't warn you if there's a fault, so it lights the bulb to warn you there's a fault in its warning system. And that's on a very simple system by today's standards.

Conceivably the fan blower can affect emissions by adding load to the engine and / or changing its running temperature (heater and fan on full used to a a standard dodge for overheating BL products!). If that causes some engine parameter to go out of spec then it'll be flagged as an engine management issue. And that's ignoring any possibilities of disturbed connections causing noise on the data lines.

Push them to at least run a scan for free (takes minutes and costs them nothing) to verify that it's not related.
