Birm Midshires & Saga Savings

With Halifax's owner HBOS heavily exposed to the liquidity crunch, and Halifax being the owner of Birmingham Midshires, what risk do you think my various One Year Bonds with Birm Midshires are running? I also have a fairly large bond with Saga Finances whose administration is run by Birm Mid..
Will any money invested with Saga be ringfenced in the unlikely event of Birm Midshires getting into difficulty? I'm not panicking. Just want to know where I stand.

I was under the impression that Saga Finances was Birmingham Midshires and therefore the FSCS compensation scheme limits would apply to the total, i.e. Saga wouldn't be ringfenced separately (in fact that Saga, Birmingham Midshires and Halifax would all share the one limit). With Halifax's owner HBOS heavily exposed to the liquidity crunch, and Halifax being the owner of Birmingham Midshires, what risk do you think my various One Year Bonds with Birm Midshires are running?
