Benalmadena/Mijas or similar

Hi
We have secured a good flight 29th Oct to 5th November to Malaga. There is a vast amount of accomodation out there, but often too far out.. We are looking perhaps to stay in Benalmadena, Mijas or somewhere similar. We don't really want to bother with a car. My Husband's mobility isnt' great so we are looking for a nice apartment with spacicous balcony/terrace, with wifi which is very close (within 5 mins walk to shops/restaurants and bars etc. Anyone any recommendations? (only 2 of us)
Thanks

I agree with Fuengirola. It's relatively flat, got a long promenade along the sea front, plentiful bars, shops and restaurants, just ensure you get accommodation close to the sea front.

Mijas is inland and built on a hillside. Benalmadena, away from the sea front is also built on a steep hillside so not ideal for your requirements.

Another option is the smaller, quieter, sea front town of La Cala.

Another vote for Fuengirola. It might not be the prettiest resort but it is very flat, well connected by bus and train to the airport, Malaga and other towns and has loads of bars and restaurants. The closer to the Los Boliches end of town you go the quieter it gets.

The town should still be fairly active in November as it's popular year round but just be prepared to wrap up in the evening.

Thanks everyone, will take another look
  • Same here Fuengirola appts right on the beach and its flat if mobility is an issue.
We went on day trips using the local buses along the coast - some towns are very hilly.
