We need to go to the garden centre to choose the gravel to fill the grids and i have a voucher for bogof ham egg and chips so will use that and save me doing dinner tonight . Need to clean and dust the house is gritty and horrid after DH doing the front as we had all the windows open with the heat . Morning ((((((((((hugs))))))))) if you need one.
We did not get the lightening but it's hissing it down. I have to drive to work he hospital on the outskirts of Leicester for OH's appointment with the Cardiologist, he is going to ask if appointments can br transferred to our local hospital.
Visited our friends round the corner yesterday afternoon with a goodie bag from the garden. We had a cup of tea and a chat.
Yesterday morning I took a pork casserole out of the freezer for supper, with spuds, cabbage and about the last picking of climbing beans it was delicious, I put a slug of wine and about a dessert spoon of tomato puree in. We had more of the fruit ninja n jelly for dessert with a scoop of ice cream. There is enough of the jelly left for tonight.
Time to get sorted, hope the roads are ok, it appears to have stopped raining for now.0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
Well, it's not raining here but it is quite overcast. I, as usual,am sweating cobs as I have just put together all the ingredients for chinese braised beef. It's in the oven now and making my kitchen smell lovely. I am going to make a chicken and leek pie later on as well as some of the girls probably won't like the beef but I will get them to try it first.
Hubby is in work on a half day so he was happy this morning. The girls are all in school, long may this continue. I have been back to bed for a nap and feel much more energised now.
I have so much paperwork to sort out but am actively avoiding it at the moment. I think I will make an appointment with myself to sit down and go through it all and organise what I am supposed to be doing. I think I am worried about having to make phone calls to officials as I get so flustered. If I can sit down and write what I need to say first that will be a big help.
Glad to hear your mum is feeling a bit brighter LaineyT, I am sure your hair looks fantastic as well.
tiredmum, your ham sounds :eek:. I hope that is a typo:D.
speky, have fun at the races, glad your job is going well.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Afternoon everyone.
A late post from me today as I got up and got out fairly sharpish this morning. As the sun is shining I wanted a white wash done and hung out asap - and now it's all blowing away merrily in the breeze. It's one of my simple pleasures in life.
I had a packet to collect at the delivery office, an expenses claim form to hand in for processing, fuel to get into the car, rubbish to take to the tip and a very little bit of shopping to buy. All done except the rubbish to the tip which I completely forgot about until I arrived back home and opened the back door of the car. Duh...not driving eight miles there to dump the rubbish, it'll wait until I go out again.
Now I'm facing catching up on four internal verification reports, two easy ones and two less so. One person a great assessor and another less so. My wording is crucial. This post is part of diversion techniques to avoid doing the reports, recognising a problem is halfway to resolving it (so I'm told!).
Right, I will start the reports now, at least just after I make another cup of tea.
:rotfl:
Happy Friday to everyone.0 -

Have a gold star COXY - well thought out! I thought it was a regional speciality that I didn't know about!!
What a mess out of the back when I went out with the washing this morning! Mr TA got summoned and it was eventually sorted out! It turned out that mountains of moss and muck had got washed down the roof and into the gutter from the torrential rain which fell in our absence on Wed night. This had blocked the drain pipe at the junction and every time the bathroom tap was turned on it overflowed and took mucho muck and yuk with it! The grate was blocked too so not a very pleasant job!
We have escaped this latest deluge though and I do hope no-one has been affected by the flooding etc that's been happening further south.
Enjoy the rest of the day if you can folks xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
I had washing out and then realised it had rained overnight.
I will stick it back in the washing machine later after braving the wet back garden. Now the skip has gone from outside there were a few cardboard boxes left behind so spent an hour tearing them up and storing them in an empty box for recycling and emptying the kitchen bin etc.
I realised my electric board had tripped again. Last time it was the freezer which I emptied and switched off and use for storage of cans or pasta etc. This time I spent ages switching various things on and off trying to work out what was causing it and eventually worked out it was the on switch for my double oven so have switched it off and will use my Remoska for anything I would normally put in the oven. Next week I will check out the oven and if it is still a problem will phone the electrician.
Middle dd just e mailed to say she is coming over tonight so want to do a quick tidy and possibly use the bread maker for a rapid loaf.

It sounds like a day of lovely memories.

I'm back..... our short break in Yorkshire was very enjoyable, but I am totally exhausted!
Managed to save ourselves a wodge of dough, though - we got the renewal on our household insurance just before we went. I nearly had a fit when I saw the premium; they've really ramped up the price. So I said we'd look around for an alternative when we got back. Long story short, we've got exactly the same level of cover, for combined buildings'n'contents, for less than half the money. :money:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Sorry ladies to disappoint it was an auto correct (yuk) not a regional delicacy. It was very nice and saves me cooking tonight x0
