Hi all, he said this at the end when he was convinced with the evidence I presented. He was just wild guessing based on info given. To be honest any fool can guess possible reasons. I think that number of transactions spooked them.0 -
Come on which idiot would londer money through his personal account or transfer western union from his account for sinister purposes. Wouldnt serious criminal just withdraw cash and send cash via western union or hawala system?
Bank manager was experienced and after interviewing me and looking at docs he knew what was going on.
I believe he should be applauded and his colleagues seating in a dark room with no sunlight and with no touch with reality should be panned.0 -

You were using a personal account for business purposes which is in breach of the T&C so they weren't wrong to close your account.
If they suspected money laundering they would have frozen the account with all the money in it without giving any notice, so it's nothing to do with that!.
Also plenty of people are stupid enough to do it and usually get "tricked" into it.0 -
Hi everyone
just an update. Lloyds got back to me saying that if I switch to their business banking I will be fine. Disclosing all financial data was useful as it ruled out money laundering or any other dodgy matters.
So, if you are really not doing anything dodgy do disclose.
Look forward to going back to Lloyds!
Thanks everyone.0 -

Wonder if they'll still let you open a personal account.
Have you still got your original letter? If you can post on here what it
said we can compare it to the letter other people on here got to see if there were any differences.0 -

Thanks Ed, you have been very helpful. They told me I can open a personal account but no more business transactions. I said that is fine.
Will try to get the letter scanned. Thanks0 -

Don't count your chickens before they are hatched.
Went to the branch last week and opened a new account because they could not reinstate the old account. Was shown the official email overturning the ban!
Moral of my saga is:
1. Dont do business on personal account unless you inform your bank so that they do not assume ML
2. Disclose every little detail and hope to have a good branch manager
All the best guys. Wanted to document all my experience so that everyone can see the end of it. I read so many posts but no one bothered to say what happened at the end.
So dont loose hope unless you have done something really criminal.0
