Hard credit check if you stay on with E-on?

I've been waiting for the new energy collective in order for me to switch. I have only recently found out that E-on (my current provider) carried out a 'hard search' on my credit score. I've since looked at the MSE guide on energy companies and the types of searches they carry out when you sign up to them. As British Gas are now the new deal winner with the cheap energy club collective, I am reluctant to switch with them as they carry a 'hard search' too. My question is: If I sign up to E-on's revised deal (which is at the moment only £5 more expensive than BG) will they carry out another 'Hard search'?
