SP actual payday

  • Apparently there is no options when applying, only the 4 weeks.
archie17 is right you have to request by phone if you need weekly.

The 1st payment does seem arbitary and appears to start for me 12 days after birthday but when it is actually paid is not clear.
Any of the options in anmarj's post.

To add to the confusion I have a friend who has just received 1st payment.
They were 65 on a Sun - payday Thurs and had a 9 day payment on the 2nd Thur ie 11 days after birthday.
Can't work out where the 9 days come from.

under the new rules they do mess about with part payments now:D

My first payment in August wasn't messed around with, it came exactly as expected according to my NI number, and has continued every four weeks since then, and very nice it is too!

Phone the DWP and they will tell you how much the first payment will be, when it will be and what your second and subsequent payments will be.

    Well done, fj

it was not meant in that kind of context, if you look back at the post it was quoted from, you might understand.:D
  • My friend got his days wrong.
Birthday was a Sun but pay day Mon, hence the 9 days 1st payment.
They have counted back even though his amount is based on the old rules as it was higher.
