Travel Ins - Spouse with condition

I'm struggling with travel insurance at the moment as I've always used the free insurance linked to my bank account. I travel with a friend (not my husband) and have no pre-existing medical conditions. However they will not cover my trips anymore as husband now has condition for which he has received treatment in the last 12 months. Currently no treatment, just 3 monthly check ups.

The insurance sites I've looked at so for always ask questions about ME as you would expect, but what I'm not sure about is whether I have to add him specifically to the policy even though he does not travel to get appropriate insurance quotes? Thanks.
