    Morning ((((((((((hugs))))))))))if you need one.

I had a run in with the GD who knows everything and has to be top of the pile. She is 20 now and it's time she sorted herself out. My sons affairs are almost settled, she cannot wait to get her hands on the money. I think that if she could she would cut out her brother and two half sisters. She has caused so much agro it's unbelievable. I feel sorry for her daughter, she seems to spend most of her money on ready meals or takeaways.

I could rant on for ages about her, but you would all get very bored.

Misty again this morning, guess it will be hot again later, it was 81f in the garden yesterday, OH had to come out n after about 20 minutes it was too hot.

Off to Bingham to change our books and Aldi. One thing is for sure, I am not shopping as I have this month again. I have spent way too much money. So next month it will be back to a big shop at the beginning of the month and a top up shop if it's needed.

    Morning all,

Very dull but humid today, shame yesterday was lovely after the storms of the night before which were quite scary with spectacular lightning. Our power went off for a short while and we kept checking the cellar for floodwater but it was ok.
Work on the repairs outside seems to be making good progress, they are putting in a huge chamber atm to divert rainwater away from the houses, though it won't stop it coming inside just yet, they have to put a new roadside culvert on the main road so it bypasses our troublesome one which will eventually get pumped full of concrete to block it up and stop (fingers crossed) it backing up.

Lyla is petrified of the huge machines:( and keeps trying to hide.I spent part of the night on the sofa again as she was barking, and scratching her ear making it bleed. She also wanted to go out to do the necessary (3am) so a bit jaded today.I've made an appointment at the vets for later, should be fun.She was so scared last time we went that she wee'd all over the room narrowly missing the vet-he had to shout his nurse for a mop :o

Off to school this afternoon to give my friend a hand.Coxy its a 2 form entry there and in the afternoon when I go the dividing doors are opened so there are 60 new little faces to get to know - I think I can remember 2 from last week:rotfl:Not sure what to do for tea as it'll be later when I get home & then going to the vets, might just stick breaded fish in.

Hugs to the many in need especially hilstep,I was really sad to hear your news & hope you enjoy spending as much time as you can with your family xx

Deleted_User - so sorry your GD is behaving that way. Such a shame, but money brings out the worst in people I have found. We no longer speak to any of DH's cousins after their grandmother died. Her estate was divided up but they wanted more.

RosyRed - poor Lyla, she must be so frightened. Good luck with the other 58 names lol! I feel I got away lightly with only 15 to learn.

Speky - enjoy getting to know your new colleagues, sounds fun!

    Good afternoon everyone :hello:

It's very warm here and I am going out this afternoon so I am not really looking forward to turning into a puddle :o < my face after 5 mins in the sunshine :).

My lovely CMHT lady is coming at 2pm and I think I want to go to our local outlet stores. It's opposite an Aldis so I can hopefully grab something for dinner too. I'm hoping they have some cooked chickens left so I can make a big pot of curry, just the thing on such a hot day :rotfl::rotfl:.

DD16 is on a half day so I hope she has remembered to take her key or she will have to sit on the doorstep till I get back. She is still really enjoying sixth form, it's such a difference to the sad and anxious girl she was last year, I'm so happy. She is going to Barnstaple fair on the weekend too with some of her friends and won't be back till late. She is finally beginning to enjoy her teenage years.

Hubby has gone into work, he had a candid chat with his boss and they have been very understanding and said he can take as much time off that he needs. He is feeling a lot better today so that is great.

The house is looking a bit neglected so I will have a quick tidy up before I go out. The dog is moulting again so I need to run the hoover around. I will get everyone to have a clean up on the weekend again, the cooker definitely needs to come out as I have dropped a fishfinger and a butter knife down the side yesterday.

I hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx
  • Good afternoon chums , boy its steaming hot here at the moment about 26.5c.

I managed to get all of my shopping plus a few extra bits for £29.37 today, so plus my £12.11 previously spent I will have laid out a total of
£41.48 for this month, and definitely have more than enough to last me for the next two weeks so my food purse has clanged shut with £18.52 left inside it.

Hopefully it will stay there until the end of the month and then get swept in to my holiday fund for next year.

Really pleased with all the bit I bought including some reduced price stuff.Mostly crackers, as I don't eat bread so more than enough for me now :):):)

I'm quite looking forward to being a bit cooler when I get up to Brechin tomorrow lunchtime.Eldest DD is staying the night tonight as we will set off for the London City airport around 6 in the morning.

Hope all's well with folk on here, normal service will be resumed early next week :):):)

    Cheers chums

    JackieO xx
  • Well the best-laid plans of mice and men Abd ancientofdays. ..

Someone sent me a big piece of work to be read and signed off for her deadline so 2+ hours used on that, someone else wanted some quite complex information and since I was on the laptop anyway, thought I may as well just deal with that. So now I have switched the wretched thing off.

On my third load of washing, running out of rack space and Mr ancient but not as ancient as me is, of course, not here to scramble out of the window with it.

I have hoovered tidied a bit (thankless task that is) and cleaned the bathroom yet again, I swear those two wash like 47 gnu at a watering hole.

The sun is out after a foggy start and I can't ever remember being a bit too warm in a pair of linen jeans and a thin cotton lawn top in September, am making the most of it. I'd make the most of it even more if I could get outside rather than out into the street.

I need or rather would rather like a few items and am trying to work out how cross and ratty the mister is going to be if I send a text asking for him to get them, possibly less cross than waiting until he gets back and then asking, he'd have to go out again if I did that. Where did I put my tin helmet?

    JackieO have a lovely time.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back
  • Good afternoon OSers,

What a lovely, sunny day! Luckily i am finishing in the office at 3 so just time to do school run and then home to put out the washing and finish off my days work. I have a little bit of ironing to do but will wait until it is much cooler and catch up with GBBO at the same time.
Leftover lasagne and salad for tea, will do DD some garlic bread too and then a lovely, relaxed dog walk by the river i think.
Looking forward to saturday lunch as i have booked us into our favourite place for a well deserved treat -We all need the odd treat now and again i think!
Right, time to catch up on a few posts.
Take care all and enjoy the rest of the day!xx

  • Hi Guys,
Had a memory day yesterday. Went out for breakfast, then went into Eastbourne to do the last of my Christmas shopping. OH then pushed me along the era front onto the pier. Sat and read the paper and people watched. Went to a hotel and had a cream tea, then ice cream and home. Gorgeous day. :T
Going out to dinner for a friends birthday this evening.
I need to do this now for as long as I can.
Hope you are all having a good day.

    Evening all!

Hilstep - what a lovely day you've had. Memories are so important for those who love you, well done for getting through it, enjoying it and making sure they have the happy memory.

My session was fine, I forgot how tough it is to communicate with older teenagers but managed it in the end. Learning through activities and laughter. I came home, poured a glass of wine ready to enjoy when a neighbour pulled up for a cup of tea. His needs didn't deter mine!

The mist has hardly lifted today even though it's fairly warm. Jura has once again turned into Brigadoon and disappeared completely from the horizon, my view is just weird.

Dumpling - I hope your outing was successful and that you took some pleasure from it. It's also so lovely to hear about your DD beginning to blossom in sixth form.
