Scottish Power electricity meter serial number
While investigating switching options I discovered that my electricity meter serial number does not match the serial number on my statements.
It is a SP Energy Networks meter and the last 5 digits match but the first section is different - P907A87***** on the meter and P9094***** on the statement.
The fact the last five numbers are the same has thrown me a bit as it suggests to me that SP have changed the format of their serial numbers at some point.
Can anyone provide insight before I contact my current supplier about this? Is this likely to cause a problem when switching or is it not relevant with the MPAN being the important number? I know it hasn't caused a problem in the past.
Thanks
