Energy switch saving

We recently joined the Energy Saving Club switching from our previous provider Scottish Gas to Sainsburys. Our dual switch saved us £80 pm, £960 per year in total with £30 flashback on top. We have just received our first bills and are £169 in credit for gas, £45 in credit for electricity. This is the first time we've been In credit for either in nearly a decade!
Thank you so much to the money saving experts these savings have made a huge difference to our family budget.

  • That is great!

    Just remember

    1) Was the bill generated using actual meter readings (not estimates) to give a true picture of the account. If not and it was produced with estimated the credit may not be that high.

    2) Although it may be tempting to take out this "credit". Do not forget that winter is coming and that credit is there for a reason. It will most likely be used up during winter heating use when you use most of your energy.

So I would leave the credit there and wait till after winter.

    You saved £960 per year?

Wow, for most people, if they could save £960 a year, the supplier would be paying them!

How much do you actually spend per year on energy???

To be over £200 in credit when you only recently switched, sounds like you are still spending a fortune.

£960 Reads as even higher tariff than a standard tariff or a mistake .
