I've seen them on the A2, they're on a gantry above the carriageway and are a row of bright white lights, there's a offset 'L' shape on the road. Are they some sort of speed camera?

Night illumination for average speed cameras? Although they tend to be mounted at the side of the carriageway. Maybe not for permanent installations though. You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose but you can't pick your friend's nose.0

I looked, but they're not on there, they're quite new.Rain_Shadow wrote: »Night illumination for average speed cameras? Although they tend to be mounted at the side of the carriageway. Maybe not for permanent installations though.
No, there are no average speed cameras on this particular stretch of road and the ones that are on the A2 are the normal yellow ones. And there's only one set, so no 'zone' so to speak.
They're right at the end of a 50mph limit, about 50yds before the NSL sign. The light is ultra bright and makes a band across the whole southbound carriage way, imagine the Angel Gabriel beaming down. I did see another set somewhere else, but I can't remember where now, maybe M1 near Luton.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
