FSA guarantee ruling check?

Since yesterday I have come accross people saying that if your Bank or Building society goes down. you get

0-2000: 1000%
2001 - 35000: 90%
35001 and above: 0%

Now my question is does this apply per account with a bank or sum total of all the accounts with a bank??

On deposits it is £31,700 per person. So if you have a number of accounts totalling e.g. £60,000, with Bank A only 100% of the first £2,000 and 90% of the next £33,000 is covered. See the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
