    Hi Richard

    We share the mortgage.

I 3 loans and all the credit cards and store cards are in my name .

My partner has 1 loan and a HP loan for his van and has a one credit card with me as the main holder...if that makes sense???

Feeling less sad and no where near as bad:beer:
    Hey kattin,

It might be worth considering just you declaring bankruptcy; a bit like "having your cake and eating it". Make sure you stress that the majority of the debt is in your name only when you speak to CCCS.

I'll have to go, I'm late picking my O.H up.

Be sure to keep us posted.

Just a quick update my OH no longer wants to sort this out together and i have spoken to CCS but in my job bankrupcy is not advisable..im a bit lost at the moment

    Any ideas???
  • What did CCCS advise you to do?

I would definatly try and avoid securing any debt on the house. I know that you've posted on the DFW have you managed to follow any of they're advice ie: reducing your utility bills, insurance etc. Using Quidco etc to get cashback. All of these are not instant fixes but it has probably taken you a long time to get the debt you have and it will take just as long to get rid of it.

Have you managed to get the OH to look at the posts you have been getting on your threads?

    Thanks for your advice

I have cancelled the unnecessary DD from my account and have applied for home/car insurance on quido

My main problem is without my OH income we cannot do it and he has read the threads but feels he is blameless...therefore he wants his cake and eat it by me going it alone..as i said i cannot realistically go bankcrupt. He wants me to leave and he keep what was essentilly my nana's home which she enabled me to purchased under the RTB schene, hence my sadness:mad:

I need to contact the CCS again as my original approach was based on us both going for gold!

  • Hi Kattin
Could you not approach your employer and discuss the situation you are in? There are some positions that you cannot hold during the undischarged period of a BR, maybe if this applies to you , you could overcome it by stepping down from your position on a temp basis, with a bit of help with your boss? Just a thought,

I work for a local authority and the rules seem rigid and unbendable!

    Hi kattin,

If you're going to resolve your problems you've got to forget completely about emotions, regrets and blaming yourself. If you go down that road you're just going to completely demotivate yourself and make it impossible to confront your problems head on and ultimately resolve them.

What does your O.H mean by not wanting to sort things out together? If he's got some other approach to this sort of thing I'd love to hear about it, because it sounds revolutionary to me. I consider myself to be a creative thinker but in my wildest flights of fantasy I can't see how each of you "fighting your own corner" can be anything other than counter productive.

What did the CCCS say about just you declaring bankruptcy? Which one of you spoke to the CCCS?

People really do exaggerate the effects of bankruptcy on employment. Are you really 100% certain that you'd lose your job if you do go the bankruptcy route?

We all want to help you get through this kattin, but you seem a bit vague. This is an anonymous forum; if you want to rant and rave; burst into tears; curse and swear, then this is the place to do it. You'll feel better afterwards and we might get some idea of how we can be of some assisstance.

    Warmest regards

    Richard

    Kattin,

I didn't read that post, I was still respoding to your earlier one. I guess that confrims what I'd hoped he wasn't going to do. How do you intend to approach the situation?

What fine brave fellows some guys are; he's not a politician by any chance?
