Thought this forum was to discuss entitlement rather than posting news stories on how crap the system is?0

Some people have been affected by the News Story, its not always about being "Entitled" to something. It's a discussion forum after all.0

Actually, this isn't the Discussion forum.
Please read the Sticky at the top of this board..
If you want to to discuss the benefits system itself and issues around it, the appropriate place isn't here but the Discussion Time board and even there, please remember courtesy and not to make it personal about anyone. This site's prime purpose it to help people with their money and I will always act to protect that.0 -
I think it's useful information and those potentially affected may well visit this forum for advice.0

I would have thought a backlog of appeals had a direct relevance to people claiming tax credits and having been rejected erroneously. That being the case, information about the size of the appeal backlog would be appropriate here too.
Add to that, the information has been posted here by MSE staff who are perfectly capable of making their own decisions on placement.0 -
I thought this was a discussion time article to be honest. Its all about concentrix failings and how the HMRC has now drafted in more people to cope with the backlog. Again a contractor messing with a complex system that get paid for by tax payers money just to shaft the tax payer with incompetence.Around 2,000 appeals against tax credit cuts will be examined by tax officials in the wake of HM Revenue & Customs' decision to axe a controversial contractor hired to cut tax credit fraud, it emerged today....Read the full story:

A poorly written article.
The figures don't have any context. If 2,000 is the total number of MRs from 667,000 then that is only 0.2% of examined claims, which is very good. Alternatively there may be a number of MRs already closed or escalated, but without knowing these figures the stats quoted are meaningless.0 -
Yes, it can't be just 2,000 MRs. (Must be 2,000 re-examined/escalated MRs as you suggest)
I think the CAB in Merseyside alone dealt with around 500 MR requests to HMRC and 800 to the DWP.Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.0 -

There was a recent PQ that gave figures and it is surprisingly low the number of MR's and appeals. But there has been a massive rise in MR requests in the first quarter of this year. If this is accurate it means of they only changed 1 in every 6 awards they checked.
