Question for Land Registry rep

Hi, I've just purchased a plot of land to increase the size of my garden and completed on this on 10th August. I have a fully completed TP1 form. I now need to register this new title in my name.
Do I just need to send the original TP1 document to my local Land registry office, which I believe is Birkenhead, with a payment ? Is there an accompanying form I need to complete ?
I assume I should send by signed for special delivery or can I hand deliver to the local office ?
Do I then get some sort of acknowledgement from Land Registry of transfer/registration of title ?
Many thanks
Mark
